about the Program:
1. August 29 (sday) Developing an Export Strategy & Marketing Plan  
9am – noon: Learn how to utilize market research resources to develop your international marketing plan. This in-depth workshop will assist you in identifying the best potential markets, choosing a market entry strategy, determining the best pricing, and implementing the market strategy.
2. September 13 (Thursday) Export Transportation and Logistics  
9am – noon: This is a presentation on shipping products internationally designed to address day-to-day activities of the export department. Topics will include: definition of key trade terms, freight flow and freight costs, export documentation and export licenses, making correct quotations, and responsibilities of the seller & buyer with respect to transportation fees, insurance, theft, loss or damage.
3. September 27 (Thursday) NAFTA & Foreign-Trade Zone Seminar  
9am – noon: Learn how to accurately complete the NAFTA Certificate of Origin; NAFTA Rules of Origin and the Regional Value Content calculations; NAFTA country of origin markings; What is a foreign Trade Zone (FTZ)? Can my company benefit from a FTZ? Ask experts in the field specific questions regarding your products and services.
4. October 4 (Thursday) International Trade Communication  
9am – noon: When conducting business abroad and trying to enter new markets, clearly communicatiing with business partners in in different countires is key to your sucess. In this session, participants will learn how to build a cohesive communication strategy, develop an awareness of cultural differences, and learn intercultural negotiations that best match operational strategies.
5. October 18 (Thursday) Export Compliance  
9am – noon: Learn how to comply with the U.S. and foreign trade requirements, including U.S.export controls, other U.S. trade laws and regulations, and foreign regulatoions affecting market access and distribution.
6. November 1 (Thursday) Cross Cultural Communication Skills  
8am – noon: This course takes traders through the basics of understanding cultural differences. General topics to be covered during this course include the following: developing an awareness of cultural differences; cultural presence on the Internet; first business contact, intercultural negotiations, and time is not always money.
7. November 15 (Thursday) International Agreements/Contracts  

        9am – noon: Learn the common contract clauses, applicable laws, terminology and key negotiating

        points of entering into an international distributor or sales epresentative agreement. Topics will

        include: preparing a quotation for an international Sale of Gooda, including general and specific

        provisions,and a comparison of CISG vs. UCC.
